Our recent move to Falmouth encouraged me to go “full Cornish”: I live in shorts and flip-flops all year round. The missus is of a gentler disposition and goes “native” only when the possibility of frostbite is remote.
I accept her position but the recent sight of camellias in full bloom (love Glendurgan Garden) encouraged me to ask why she was still pottering around in a pair of sad-looking winter boots.
Oh boy, did I get a dirty look and she growled something about “her feet not being ready to greet the world” so I went full in and booked my beloved her first “pedicure of the season”.
